Cuillin Nightfall - Reduction Lino cut by local artist Liz Hartley

Ebb + Flow
Summer Exhibition

“Cuillin nightfall' was inspired by an Easter visit to Plockton Coral beach, sketching the sun going down behind the Cuillins on the Isle of Skye. It is a reduction lino, where each translucent layer of colour is printed on top of the one before, and then the block cut away for the next layer. There are fifteen layers in all, and there’s no going back. Liz Hartley.

The exhibition features a diverse group of artists, including indigo dyer and textile artist Clarissa, Georgina Burton, Hannah Luxton, stone carver James Copper, ceramic artist Gabby Smith, and sculptor Tom Henderson.

Coral Beach, Isle of Skye by Diana Mackie
DIANA MACKIE

Regarding the west coast Scottish island, we are privileged to exhibit a painting by Diana Mackie, the Isle of Skye's esteemed artist. Her oil on canvas, "Coral Beach," is on display in the Mixing Shed Cafe area and is available for purchase through the Gallery. The Cafe will open for the private viewing on Thursday from 7-9pm.

Anne Curry Sculpture

Anne is a local sculptor, who has exhibited across Europe. She draws inspiration from plant forms, she strives to evoke the power of life at work in nature. We are thrilled to be exhibiting three sculptures by Anne throughout the Summer months, Escapade, Coup de Vent and Jacaranda, both are cast in Resin and will be for sale via Wightman Gallery.
Escapade

Escapade

Anne finished sculpting an Aquilegia seed pod during the last days of the final Covid-19 lockdown. "The overwhelming sense of liberation inspired the title," she explained. Escapade will adorn the farm during the summer months and will be available for purchase as well.
Coup de Vent

Coup de Vent

The papery leaves of a reed, buffeted by the winter wind, embody the essence of Coup de Vent—a romance captured in resin or bronze. Its form illustrates movement, motion, and a passion for nature's inherent state of being.

Hand Thrown Pots and Seasonal flowers

Introducing local Flower Grower

Catherine Alexander, a local flower farmer from Ickleton in Essex, collaborates with us to sell her seasonal cut flowers, which are a perfect complement to our hand-thrown pots and bud vases.

Catherine appreciates the harmony between her handcrafted items and the flowers she cultivates. We eagerly anticipate offering Catherine's floral arrangements for sale each week.

We will be offering our handcrafted terracotta pots filled with locally-sourced herbs from Herbal Haven, alongside bunches of Catherine's floral arrangements, at our Private Viewing on June 13th from 7-9pm. Join us to celebrate and support British craftsmanship!
