To cry or not to cry?

Meeting Keith Brymer Jones from
Channel 4's Pottery Throw Down

With zero expectations and a mind as open as a kiln door, Annabel found herself at a Keith Brymer Jones' talk in North Berwick, part of Fringe by the Sea. Keith, a celebrity potter who's more famous than a teapot in a tea lover's house signed her a copy of 'Boy in a China Shop' (a tale of life, clay, and everything in between), a book about his life. What a legend.

Keith got real about clay's role in his life – it's not just mud, it's his muse! Fans of 'The Pottery Throw Down' know he's got a tear duct as soft as his clay; turns out, crying is to emotions what pottery is to the soul – a release! And hey who would know, squishing clay is like a stress ball on steroids, it's a mental clarity booster. So, why not give clay a whirl and shape your own piece of peace?

Our 6 week pottery course and Potter of the Week

Gabby Smith has been on our 6 week course, she has focused on throwing and refining her forms with trimming. Just look at her perfect bowl!

Doing a longer course with us allows you to develop your skills. From throwing more precisely to be able to learn how to trim and turn.

Pop us an email - wightmanstudio@gmail.com if you're interested in one of our 6 week courses, or maybe two times a week over 3 weeks would work better for you!
